Born in SLO in ’93, Holden was named after “Holden Caulfield” of “Catcher in the Rye” fame, a favorite book, and character, of his mother’s. She was just nineteen when she gave birth to him, and raised him with help from her parents, on her own. His Father was only fourteen, nearly fifteen, when his parents had a week long fling over the summer in ’93 at Lake Tahoe.
His Father grew up to become N.L.C.W. Hall of Famer, the “Monster” Frank Merritt. Frank was completely unaware of his son until seven years ago. He never saw his boy crush offensive lines as a standout defensive lineman during his high school career. Wasn’t there to watch his boy blow his left knee out either when an opposing center chopped his legs out from behind. Didn’t get to watch him box from his teens until he moved to New Mexico for college. Holden and his Father met eight years ago after his mother revealed to him whom he was. Frank proudly took him under his wing, setting him up with Greg Jackson to train in MMA while attending college in New Mexico. Upon graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in botany as well as an associate’s in Business Management, he began training in the squared circle under the watchful eye of his Father and fellow N.L.C.W. Hall of Famer, Ethan Andrews. He cut his teeth in the now defunct “Pure Class Wrestling” where he dominated the Underground division, their “Hardcore” division.
Holden is a true Bastard, having grown up Fatherless, and carries that chip on his shoulder even today. Now, he is looking to leave his mark on this sport, like his Father before him.

Tips for match writers:
Holden is a stiff worker who knows almost every variation of the clothesline. Loves the Steinerline. He fights, not wrestles, and works like a cross between Vader and the Original Shiek.
When Holden hits the ring, he turns into a wild man (think the "Original Sheik," Bruiser Brody, or Abdullah the Butcher.). Relies mostly on punches, kicks, clotheslines, biting etc. will fall back on the more technical moves when needed. will occasionally throw a fireball
