CHARACTER BIO
Joshua Wells is a former priest, turned preacher and professional wrestler. Orphaned at a young age, he bounced from home to home in his youth, before finally settling into the family of a small town priest. Finally in a secure home, he had a relatively quiet life until the age of 18. Schooling complete, he drifted from job to job, lost into various temptations and vices. This, of course, put him at odds with his adoptive father.
After reaching rock bottom and entering rehab, Joshua would, it was decided, try to mirror his father and walk a similar path. The vices never entirely disappeared, but he did find more of a control of them as he developed into his training, eventually completing his further education and taking on a similar role to his father in another town.
But as is so common, his past caught up with him still, with gambling debts and alcohol intake proving particularly problematic.
Everything changed for him when he had his crash. He has always maintained that he only drank one beer that night but regardless of that, the facts remain: on that night his car veered off the road, rolled down an embankment and slammed into a tree. His condition was critical and his outlook dire, his survival was rated as a maybe 1/20 chance by his doctor. But he did survive. He awoke some weeks later and learned of the passing of his father in the meantime.
With his world rocked, Joshua came to hold the belief that it was his vices which had killed his father and had put his own life in jeopardy. Somehow that idea, combined with his pre-existing beliefs, merged into a far more fanatical view that sin is evil and evil must be destroyed.
This took Joshua into a virtually vigilante role, targeting anyone he deemed to be sinful. Over time that became him fighting underground, and then eventually entering into wrestling - all with the stated purpose of spreading his message and eradicating all sin.
Now he has a couple of years under his belt and is seeking to spread the message even further, hopefully bringing him to the forefront of the industry.
